The Links Regional Centres offer courses for people working in the world of languages. Ten new Links professional development courses are now on offer.

COMENIUS-Regio

This new programme offers local authorities the chance to partner with a region in Germany to improve their educational offer to young people, motivate local authority staff and teachers by exchanging best practice and promoting cooperation.
They can include schools and other players linked to education (eg teacher training, youth groups, vocational educators, community organisations and employers). Funding is available for meetings, work shadowing and other activities over a two-year partnership. Comenius Bilateral School Partnerships
|
Bilateral partnerships last two years and include a reciprocal exchange, each lasting a minimum of ten days, between the UK institution and another European partner school. The partnership benefits include increased motivation for, and skill in, language learning coupled with valuable exposure to other European cultures and education systems. Training for Teachers: German Immersion Day
|
A day designed to allow German teachers to re-immerse themselves in the language and get up-to-date on developments in German society and culture. The sessions will be conducted entirely in German.
The training takes place on 23 Feburary 2010 at the University of Wolverhampton. Tickets are £50 per person.

GCSE Revision Days 2010

An intensive 1-day workshop for school groups who will be taking their GCSE examination in the summer.
The workshop takes place at the Goethe-Institut London on 11 and 24 February from 10.30am to 4pm. The price is £12 per pupil.

Anglo-German Conference

UK-German Connection and the British Council are holding a conference to celebrate and develop Anglo-German school partnerships.
The conference will celebrate a number of Anglo-German projects as well as focus on the possibilities of continuing and developing Anglo-German cross-curricular school cooperation. The event offers a unique platform to get together with colleagues from around England.
