Love your food!
Food is universal - we all eat it and we all love it! But do we always really know what we're eating? Recent scientific advances, which look set to continue in the future, have enabled us to produce genetically modified foods - (foods which are altered on a genetic level to help them to grow more effectively, often through inserting herbicides or encouraging the food to grow larger). However, genetic modification has potential disadvantages as well as advantages.
What do young people think?
In this podcast, we asked young people from both England and Germany what they felt about whether it was right to interfere with nature, whether they would try to avoid buying GM foods in the supermarket and what they think the greatest benefit of GM foods could be. The variety of ideas that was shared shows that opinions are still definitely divided over this controversial subject and that there's still a lot that we don't know. However, one thing we can be sure of is that food will continue to change in the future.
