Make your own animal band!

Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten is a famous German fairytale about a band made up of four animals: a donkey, a dog, a cat and a cockerel! Click here to read the story

You can make the finger puppets and invent some songs for them to perform. Who's going to be the star of the show? You decide!

You will need:

  1. Scissors
  2. Glue
  3. Lots of colouring pencils
  4. The printed template (see below)

What the puppets look like is up to you! You could colour them in their normal colours, or you could draw some clothes on them to make them look like real rock stars...

Before you start, make sure you get an adult to help you!

Step 1

Step 1 Colour in the animals

First of all, print out the template and colour in the animals.

Step 2

Step 2 Cut out the puppets

Then cut out all the puppets.

Step 3

Step 3 Fold the flaps

Fold over all the grey and white flaps and put glue on them. Only glue the flaps!

Step 4

Step 4 Glue the sides together

Now glue the front and back of each puppet together. Make sure you only put glue on the flaps, otherwise your finger won't fit inside.

Step 5

Step 5 Finished puppets!

That’s it - your puppets are finished! Now it’s time to play. Have fun!
