Kasper finger puppets

 

Find out how to make some fantastic Kasper finger puppets!

Kasper is a traditional puppet in Germany. He appears in puppet plays and books and is similar to Mr. Punch.

Why not make two finger puppets and perform a German puppet play with them?

You will need:

  1. Scissors
  2. Glue
  3. Lots of colouring pencils
  4. The printed template (see below)

You can colour in Mr. Punch and Kaspar, and decide what your puppets look like!

Before you start, make sure you get an adult to help you!

Step 1

Kaspar step 1 Colour in the figures

First of all, print out the template and colour in the body parts of your finger puppets.

Step 2

Kaspar step 2 Cut out the figures

Then cut out the template.

Step 3

Kaspar step 3 Fold the body

Now fold the finger puppet's body along the long straight line, so there are two sides: a back-side and a front-side.

Step 4

Kaspar step 4 Fold the white strip

There is also a long white strip on the side of the finger puppet. Fold it back and put some glue on it.

Step 5

Kaspar step 5 Glue on the head

With the glue on the white line you can now glue the front and the back together. Watch out, as you still have to be able to fit your finger inside the puppet!

Step 6

Kaspar step 6 Put it all together

Now glue the head and arms to the finger puppet's body and wait until the glue has dried.

Step 7

Kaspar step 7 ... and your finger puppet is ready!
