European Day of Languages

What's special about 26 September? Find out here!

Do you know when the European Day of Languages is? That's right - it's on 26 September!

This day is a celebration of languages. It reminds us how useful learning another language is.

What happens on 26 September?

During the last couple of years there have been many fantastic events.

For example, pupils of a comprehensive school in Croatia learned to sing popular ballads like Brother John in different languages.

In Syston, Leicestershire, children at the Merton Primary School made a Schultute, sang songs in German and tasted German food. They had a fantastic time!

Is your school doing something special to celebrate? Let us know and we will put it on the website.
