Happy Birthday Celebrations

Posted by Masha Smith, 21/09/2011

I was invited to some birthday celebrations. The cake was a 'Hello Kitty' one and we had hot dogs for our tea. They're a bit like the wurst you get in Germany.

Kev the Postman visits Class 1

Posted by Masha Smith, 20/09/2011

Kev the Postman came to visit the children in Class 1 and told them all about his job delivering letters and parcels. He said that parcels like my travelling box have to go 'by air', that is, they get put in an airplane to reach their destination.
Kev let the children try out his big shoulder bag. It was so big you could fit me and Ben in it if you wanted!

Making a scarecrow

Posted by Masha Smith, 19/09/2011

I was asked to help the children make a scarecrow. We had a great time and I got covered in quite a bit of straw! We made a beekeeper scarecrow because the school's topic this half term is 'occupations'. I like beekeepers because they help produce one of my favourite foods - honey! Scarecrow in German is 'Vogelscheuche'.

Hey, presto!

Posted by Masha Smith, 19/09/2011

And here I am! The children seem very friendly. I think I'm going to like it here. There's plenty of space and the school is surrounded by lovely farms and fields.
