Around the world

Geschrieben von Verena Petschl, 21/06/2018

On Friday our school threw a big party. The motto was "Around the World". All students, parents and teachers came together, sang songs, danced and did some handicrafts (e.g. African masks or jewellery) in different workshops. This was followed by an international buffet.
Class 1A sang some songs about the "Seven continents of our world" and "Where are you from?". One student introduced Ben to the parents. After that Ben helped the children to paint flaggs on the children's faces.

Alex goes the pool at St Andrew's Park

Geschrieben von Hannah White, 20/06/2018

What a treat Alex had on Thursday when he went home to Evie's house: after a snack (a biscuit! Yum) he went to the outdoor pool at St Andrew's park. Lots of the children at Sefton Park School play at this park: it has swings and climbing frames and lots of trees and of course the outdoor pool for cooling down after a hot day at school.

Wow, at the weekend Brenda and I visited an old castle of the most famous Bavarian King Ludwig II. It’s called Herrenchiemsee and is located on an island in the lake. I would like to live there :) !

Exciting times for Alex at Walton!

Geschrieben von Anna Freeman, 17/06/2018

Since Alex arrived, Walton school has had loads of fun with him! On our launch day, the children asked and answered questions about Germany, designed a T-shirt for Alex with a 'Best of British' theme (the winning design for each class will be put onto a real T shirt!) and completed maths challenges with a German theme using distance and money calculations. The bumblebee class (age 7-9year olds) have learnt German this term and sent German posters, introducing themselves, to our link school and our Arachnid class (age 10-11 year olds) have been learning German and will be making posters comparing various aspects of German and English life next week. Alex himself has made his home in our caterpillar class (4-5 year olds) who have named him 'Alex Steiff' and he is generally being cuddled by one of the children so doesn't have much time to himself! Happy Days - We will post some pictures soon!

Primary 3 loved looking after Alex for the day. Alex loved that one of the pupils was wearing a German football top - it made him feel gute! He had "das Lunchpaket" from the school dinner hall which contained a cheese sandwich, a yoghurt and a banana. Alex loved helping the children with their German!
