Last Thursday Doro and five friends celebrated the 9th birthday of Doro in the "Bowling Arena“ in Dresden.
The girls invited Ben to come with them.
Driving to the location some British tourists in the tram became attentive to Ben and talked to him.
Then Ben and the girls spend a very funny afternoon by bowling.

Ben had a sightseeingtour in Dresden. He was shown the Semperoper, the Zwinger, the Fürstenzug and, of course the "Church of our Lady". What a beautiful city!

Karate training

Today Ben had karate training with his new friend. Everybody was wearing white suits with green, blue, brown or black belts. Attentively he watched the children doing the "Katas". Unfortunately the sports lesson was over too fast.

Ben arrived!

Yesterday Ben arrived at our school in Dresden. The children introduced theirselves to Ben and some brought a present for him. So Ben became an own chair where he can sit like a king on his throne. Now Ben can sit in front of the class and watch the children learning.

Welcome Alex

Guten Tag Alex! Welcome to Swinnow Primary School. We were so excited to have Alex arrive in our school today. He was a little bit shy at first, but soon got to know all the children who introduced themselves to Alex in German. We then had a party eating lots of yummy food that Alex brought including rye bread, bockwurst, frankfurters, frikadellen and kinder chocolate!

From 10th to 28th September Ben will be expected at our school 4. Grundschule "Am Rosengarten" in Dresden which has the title "Europaschule in Sachsen". The pupils of class four are looking forward to Bens visit. They will give him a warm welcome.

Goodbye Alex!

Alex got on the plane on Saturday with lots of letters to post to the children in Germany from the children of Sefton Park School. We hope they will enjoy them as much as we enjoyed reading their lovely letters! We had such a good time with Alex!

Farewell – Time to say „Goodbye!“

Today, all children of GS Zuchering had to say “Goodbye!” to Ben. Many hands were shaken and Ben was often hugged and kissed. “Goodbye, Ben! Have a good trip! Come back soon!”

Picture book

A few children of class 1A came up with the idea to make a picture book with Ben. They wrote a delightful story about Ben in London and painted matching pictures. After that, they even created a little reading quiz for their classmates. What a lovely idea!!!

Sending postcards to Bristol II

Today, they painted on the reverse pictures of Ben and themselves visiting favourite places or doing different activities (e.g. in the garden, playing football, on the sofa, eating ice cream…). We’re already looking forward to a reply card!
