Tim Mälzer, nicknamed the Küchen-Bulle or the 'Kitchen Cop', can be seen as the German version of Jamie Oliver. In fact, the two star chefs both worked under world famous Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo at London's Neal Street Restaurant in the 1990s.

Tim Mälzer has published several cookbooks (e.g. Born to Cook) and had his own cooking show Schmeckt nicht, gibt's nicht until 2006. In 2009 he opened up his own restaurant Bullerei in Hamburg. When he is not working in the Bullerei, he is cooking in the kitchen of public broadcaster ARD.
