Jack and the beanstalk"Wife, bring me our little brown chicken!" says the giant.
The giant's wife gets the chicken and puts it on the table.
"Lay an egg!" says the giant. And the chicken lays a beautiful golden egg.
"Lay another egg!" says the giant, and the chicken lays another golden egg.
Then the giant falls asleep.
As soon as the giant is asleep, Jack climbs out of the oven, goes to the table and puts the little brown chicken into his bag.
"Help! Help!"shouts the chicken. And the giant wakes up.
With a terrible shout, he gets his club and runs after Jack.
The giant runs very fast. But Jack runs faster. He climbs down the beanstalk.
But the giant follows him. When Jack sees the giant, he shouts:
"Mother! Quickly, bring me my axe!"
Jack's mother gives him the axe. Jack chops down the beanstalk.
With a terrible crash, the giant falls to the ground and dies.
No one knows what happened to the giant's wife and the castle. But because of the magic chicken, Jack and his mother are the richest people in town. They buy Maggie the cow back from the farmer. And they all live happily every after.
