After breakfast, the giant says: "Wife, bring me my money!"
The giant's wife brings him two big bags of gold. The giant counts his money. But he is very tired and he falls asleep. Jack takes one of the bags of gold and runs away. He runs out of the giant's kitchen, and back to the beanstalk. Then he climbs down the beanstalk and goes back to his mother's house.
Jack and his mother are rich. They have the giant's gold. They buy lots of food and some beautiful new clothes. But one morning, Jack climbs up the beanstalk again. He walks to the giant's castle. The giant's wife opens the door. But she doesn't recognise Jack in his new clothes.
"Excuse me. I'm very hungry. Please can I have some breakfast?" he says.
"No. Go away!" she says, "or my husband the giant will eat you. Run away now!"
But Jack doesn't run away. And the giant's wife is a very kind woman. So she tells him to come in and have some breakfast. Suddenly, Jack hears a terrible noise.
"Oh no!" says the giant's wife. "It's my husband! You must hide now!"
So Jack hides in the oven.
The giant shouts:
"Fee, fi, fo, fum,
I smell the blood of an Englishman:
Be he alive, or be he dead,
I'll grind his bones to make my bread!"
But his wife tells him not to be silly and gives him his breakfast.
